Social and emotional intelligence is about being aware of ourselves and others, in the moment, and using that awareness to manage ourselves (our behavior, our responses to stressful or challenging situations), and manage our relationships with others.

In 2019, I had travelled to the U.S. to visit my son. Back home, my grandson was sick, and I was anxious about him.

Lourdes Pereira has earned an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from York University.
She has completed core courses towards the Co-Active Coach Training Program with the renowned Coaches Training Institute, the Resilient Leader: Coaching Resilience Through Adversity program and the Social + Emotional Intelligence Coach Certification program with the Institute for Social + Emotional Intelligence.
Ms. Pereira has additional training in group facilitation, conflict resolution, accessibility, and mindfulness. She is currently a teacher-in-training in the Mindful Self-Compassion Certificate program with the Center for Mindful Self-Compassion, and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Facilitation Certificate program with the Centre for Mindfulness Studies. Most recently, she became certified as a Chronic Pain Self-Management Peer Leader for the South Riverdale Community Health Centre.
Previously, Ms. Pereira worked in administrative, marketing, case management, fitness consulting, and employment counselling roles. She has also volunteered to provide support for survivors of sexual assault, and others who were facing a variety of distressful situations. She has significant experience working with a diverse clientele and has developed solid competencies in being emotionally attuned to others and motivating people toward meaningful action and change. Her strengths lie in her intuition, compassion, sense of humour, and ability to establish trustworthy rapport quickly.
After undergoing a significant life-altering event, Ms. Pereira has chosen to dedicate herself to empowering clients to sharpen and strengthen their social and emotional intelligence skills, and mindfulness skills when confronted with adversity and challenges. Her coaching approach encourages clients to discern how, and when, to use striving and non-striving methods towards navigating difficult situations and emotions, goal attainment and the creation of a more enriching lifestyle. On a personal level, Ms. Pereira resides in Brampton, Ontario; however, she coaches clients across the globe. She is a nature photography enthusiast, an intuitive culinary magician well known for her Thanksgiving feasts and a solo traveller whose most recent enjoyable trip was to Nepal. Ms. Pereira enjoys her time with her three adorable nephews, spending long hours fishing, and has a voracious appetite for reading fiction and non-fiction, most notably of the personal development kind.
